Traxxas Shootout Trophies 2013
Remember last year when we were given the task of fabricating two trophies from scratch….in one week? Well, this year we had about three weeks! Ha. Traxxas (“The Fastest Name In Radio Control”) asked bo-mar to make the Top Fuel and Funny Car trophies for NHRA’s Traxxas Shootout again this year at the U.S. Nationals at Lucas Oil Raceway (the biggest race of the year!) Although we’re very busy back in the shop these days, this was the type of project Mark really enjoys. Of course, we accepted! While the design Traxxas sent us was very familiar to last year’s design, Mark did make a few small tweaks. We were also able to drop the weight of each trophy from 57 down to 42 pounds. (Although both winner’s told us they were still too heavy! :-))[p]
Congratulations to both Jack Beckman and Shawn Langdon for winning this year’s Traxxas Shootout![p]

[p]A special thanks to Bill Miller Engineering for supplying us with the sets of rods and pistons! Also, thanks to Innovative Mold and Machine for their work on the trophy bases, as well as Ben Johnson for his work on the glass portion of the trophies! We truly appreciate the help on such short notice!
