• As you drive along 38th Street on the west side of Indianapolis, you can’t help but notice the 6-foot diameter globes on 22-foot tall poles. There are three of these attention-getting structures that mark the boundaries of Indy’s International Marketplace zone. There are also 12 smaller installations throughout at other intersections as well. All of the structures feature images of people who own restaurants in the community.
  • The globes started out as just a drawing. At bo-mar, we figured out how to make them and install them.
  • The base is a circle about 36 inches in diameter, 2 inches thick. We cut the solid bases using our water jet. We cut the lettering using our laser cutting.
  • We built a structure so it could be constructed, transported, and lifted with crane without damaging the paint shop finish.
