- You might recognize this sign from the lobby of Eli Lilly and Company’s international headquarters. At first glance, this project looks like an easy task: build a big logo (16 feet long to be exact) that goes on top of a big bench. But getting it right was anything but easy! Because people would most likely sit on the bench, we had to create a steel structure to support the weight and used a solid piece of wood to support the base.
- We also wanted to make sure the signage would look great up close. Therefore, we constructed the logo out of hollow aluminum and then welded all the seams. We built the entire logo in one piece, which gives it an incredibly sleek look. We finished it off with the same type of paint job you’d do on a custom car. It’s as smooth as a Ferrari – and it’s the perfect shade of red, of course!
